Capivara Crossing

Today I introduce to you my favorite South American creature, the capivara. I imagine that the name is not familiar to the Western world.

According to Wikipedia, the Capivara is the largest rodent in the world. Yes, it is basically a huge rat, and they usually live in herds. I have spotted a family of capivaras by the smelly Tiête river in São Paulo, and they looked like they could run me over and eat me alive! The fact that people outside of South America generally do not know about the existence of this majestic creature is so amusing to me.
